I have a overwhelming feeling that just the oil pump / crank-seal was done and not the "O" ring in the oil pump housing. I've had people bring their Saab's to me and say they already had this (Pump Housing "O" Ring / Crank Seal) seal done. The mechanic only removed the harmonic balancer and replaced the seal behind it. Can't really say what was the real repair was done to your car. Clean the area around your oil pump and look under the car while on jack-stands. You'll probably see oil leaking around the pump housing. When the "O" ring gets old it cracks and leaks and the only fix is to remove the pump housing and replace.
