I just got a line on a 86 4dr. turbo setting in someone's yard about 200 miles from where I live. I have a few 89/90 900's (2 89 parts cars)and wondered what you'd all recommend. The car has been setting for about 5 yrs, has 145,000 miles, was running until the P.O. installed a starter. He drove for a week or so then began having electrical problems and had repaired some damaged wiring (looks like broken/melted? wires in wiring harness across top of engine). He thinks the fuel pump went out. I guess it was cranking, but not trying to start. Everything else looks good, he said it had new tranny put in before he bought it. So, I'm going to go down there and see if I can get her running again.
1) If I take fuel pump from 89 non turbo will it work in '86 Turbo?
2) Are there any other parts I might want to take that might have gotten fried if he shorted some wiring when he put the starter in?
3) Any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
