Where are you located? I ask because there were no '86 4-door turbos in the US... '85 was the last year until a few were produced in '89/'90. If it really is an '85, that would explain the wiring issues - it's very common in '85 cars, especially turbos.
Answers:
1. No, unless you move the whole fuel tank over and change/modify the fuel lines. That should work.
2. Tough question to answer - my strong bet is that the engine wiring harness is hosed. You may be able to patch it up, there may be fried components.
3. If it's an '85 with bad wiring and you don't need the parts and/or don't have a love for the turbo 4-doors, I would walk away. Those cars can be real ugly to deal with these days.
