bucking/revs jumping Posted by WilletHossfeld [Email] (#941) [Profile/Gallery] (more from WilletHossfeld) on Tue, 26 May 2009 07:46:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had problems with "bucking" or what felt like a momentary loss of power, would never last more than a second, replaced the AMM, with a known working one, and things were somewhat better, but not really. there is no rhyme nor reason to it happening and its completely impossible to predict. i've noticed that when it does it the rev's jump dramatically ( jumps of about 750 rpms) the idle will also occasionally hover around 2,000. i originally thought the problem was maybe fuel delivery (fuel pump unit is less than 5,000 miles old) so maybe a regulator or a clogged filter. but the revs indicate otherwise.
I know others have experienced issues here, and whats been the best experience, i've tried replacing the ignition control module with another, but that didnt work- i think it might be because that one is faulty as well. thinking of buying a new one off e euro and a throttle position switch.
might do a fuel filter anyway because i actually don't know how old the one on the car is.
any thoughts or advice are welcome. thanks!
