Well I know you posted after my bucking issue, and the ignition magnifier was my solution. Except for the rapid change in RPM i'd think intermittent fuel blockage, but I'd previously replaced the fuel filter. But then car sat as I used another as daily driver. I have experienced 2 dizzy rotors going bad on 2 different cars. The first gave no warning, just left me sit once I stopped at the Post Office, but the second did create a skipping or missing type situation not unlike the ignition module I just replaced. But then after about 15 minutes total driving time it stopped me on side of road. I did a post entitled "I gave her the finger" about that experience. Since that is a simple and cheap fix try that first. Do you have a fuel pressure gage so you can check fuel pressure at rail? I do not think it is a fuel problem. One poster suggested coil when I was trying to fix the bucking issue. In my case that wasn't it. . Clean the coil electrical connect area of carbonized grime. I also suggest that the non turbo post 1989 Saabs have a connector from the hall sensor very near the oil filter, and in theory carbonized oil spilled there could cause the electrical pathway to go array. If you have a post 1989 non turbo try cleaning th plug with WD 40 or some brake cleaner, although I think something that strong may in the long run damage the wiring insulation.
