Did you replace the cat too? It might be plugged....measure the inlet vs outlet temps on the cat to see that it is not clogged.
You raised your base boost setting when you adjusted the wastegate rod, so there is more power .... not placebo....measure it with a 10psi gauge per the manual so you have about 6PSI max and you will have the correct base boost setting.
