Gentlemen,
While repairing the cruise control on my 1985 Turbo 900 I discovered the "vacuum switch in engine compartment, left wheel housing" would not hold vacuum. This is the red capped vacuum switch. After addressing all other problems and plugging the vacuum line to it the cruise works fine. However, I know that it is part of the APC system (item 233 on the APC System wiring diagram, also item 233 on the cruise wiring diagram) and want to have a working switch. Eeuroparts does not list the part for an '85 but does for an '86.
Two questions: Tom Townsend says it should hold vacuum, do you agree? Could there possibly be any difference between the one in my '85 and a new one for a '86? It is a non returnable part and I really can't take a hit if it does not work.
Thanks
