Yup. Saab went back and forth with providing a bearing in the front cover. If you've got the bearing, you need a cover that can accommodate it, but if you don't have the bearing, I don't think there is any interference if the cover can accommodate it.
Basically, the mount swap Justin is talking about replaces the hydraulic mount with the rubber mount. Non-turbo 16vs still kept the rubber front mount for a while, so there is an adapter.
You will need mount # 8339608 (the rubber mount for the 85 n/a tranny), plus the adapter bracket which is a sorta u-shaped bracket, with ears that mount where the hydraulic mount goes onto the chassis, and a hole and captive nut for the rubber mount's through bolt. It is item #4 on eeuroparts Engine Mounts illustration for a 1990 900 non-turbo.
