.. on the bottom of the trans is the actual drain hole for that passage? It's gotta be right about where the final drive carrier/casing meets the actual trans, no? The car's an old rusty heap and while I've got the worst of the oil leaks cleared up, it's still covered in crap down there, a good powerwashing from underneath is coming up soon... it's entirely conceivable given the layer of crud that the pressure vent and the drain hole are both clogged.

I'm not keen on the whole putting ATF in the final drive either.
