Bob,
Agreed, the 3 bolts of which you speak that FIX (as my german buddies used to say)the slave into position, are the real buggers. I think I had cut off hex wrenches, and at other times even used needle nose vice grips to get at the heads....I really hate those buggers but this car won't have a clutch without it.
I have been able to get that shaft out IIRC just by pulling the fan, and leaving the radiator intact. I was thinking you were going with the seatbelt bolt to thread into the end of the small shaft to give you a leverage point for shaft pulling, but it seems you're speaking of getting the clutch depressed. I can bleed up my system with my tried and true oil can/hose on the bleeder and get her working long enough to get the clutch wire hoop to capture the clutch springs and allow removal.
Really wish I had a genie SAAB slave, but the Italian Stallion is going in. I further thought to purhaps purge the whole brake system of fluid by just flushing all 4 wheels and the slave at the same time....messy but perhaps the DRY DOT 4 fluid will buy my son some time before the think begins corroding.
Thanks for the 411.
