chain on, and reset timing. Good. Q. Who set the chain timing, and how did they do it? I have done this many times and i still have issues every time. The problem, for me, is that i am always working with worn parts that line up a little differently than new ones. i can't tell you how many times it was off. Also, you mention the coolant temp sender, that it changes things when you unplug it, but have you diagnosed the sender? specs in bently. I don't think i saw it in your list. Remember to reset the spark timing whenever you touch the chain...Best of luck
