Yeah the donor is an auto so I would have to switch out the trannies as well. The convert really does have 74k on it, the owner had a ratty SPG that he drove and this sat in the garage till somebody tboned him in it. You see if I buy this wrecked turbo, I could pretty much fix everything on my rig that's broken all at once. Right now my heating system is baked and the ac isn't working so that's two more systems worth at least 1500 I could also transplant from the donor onto my car. I could probably use the bumpers, drivers seat, air dam, cat converter, the list goes on. My motor is in good shape, I drove it on road trips for work this summer and got 28 mpg but I really don't want to open up the motor again to do the HG. My shop charges 90 an hour pretty harsh to rack up this kind of work for. The reason the quote was so much cuz they said they would do a valve job while they were in there for the gasket. Oldsaab I would do it myself except for a couple reasons, I'm a mechanical idiot and I don't have any tools either. The guy selling the wrecked cvt. does have all the tools and the know how but I'm sure he doesn't want to do the work, that's why he's selling all his saabs. Guess I'll just have them fix the heater valve, at least I won't have puddles inside the car.
