Hi, you didn't say how fast the idle was, but if it's hanging around 2,000 it may be the temp sensor in the intake manifold. It looks similar to the fuel injector connections and is between the #2 and #3 intake runners, and the item is usually blue plastic at the connection. depress the metal bail lock and disconnect and look at the contacts, if they are blue copper sulfate looking... clean up up. a solution of vinegar or diluted CLR or diluted Lime away should do the trick, use a short brush and then rinse with distilled water after. If the connection looks nice and shiney then it may be the sensor itself. The NTC sensor (negative temperature cooefficient) or the AIC are usually the ones at fault. Before replacing the NTC sensor, be sure that the AIC has been cleaned with WD-40 or similar (not carb cleaner or brake cleaner as they melt plastic) and when shaken it rattles. Then when reinstalled smack the metal near the mounting clamp and see if the idle changes. If it does and goes lower you have found your weak link. concentrate on the AIC, clean it, make sure the contacts are clean, and I've heard of using the wrong clamp and when tighten it actually squeezes the guts and won't let it work properly. Other than your trouble shooting, had you changed the AIC recently?
