If it's the same head unit (says "Saab-Clarion"), then you're in like flint. You should be able to just pop in the head unit.
If the 9000 unit is the Harman-Kardon unit (has a small, removable keyboard on the front), then yes, BUT you need to make sure you get all the bits.
The interface with the car is the same (two 10-pin connections), but the connection to the amplifier may be different from the 900, and the 9000 uses an amplifier developed by Harman-Kardon to power at least the rear speakers.
You might want to ask over on the 9000 forum for details, if that is the system you're getting.
