Clutch Issues - Master? Slave? Neither? Both?

Some mornings, when I start my '93 900S, the car lunges backwards despite the clutch pedal being fully depressed. Usually, the problem seems to quickly solve itself -- or I am able to solve it by pumping the clutch pedal a few times.
In what may be a related problem, I seem to be losing brake fluid - though I have no idea where it's going, as I've never seen a puddle on the ground (nor in the interior).
I should note that topping off the brake fluid reservoir seems not to make a difference.
Does this sound like the master cylinder? Slave?
Thanks all!
