Pull the radio out and DIN enclosure (assume you have radio code). See if rod from heater rotary knob has fallen off heater valve. Sometimes in these old 900's the dash has been removed so many times the facia screws are broken allowing play in facia and keyed rod falls off heater valve.
If your heater core is clogged, I have one in my garage you can have. I have had about 12 900's over the years...I have done about 10 head gaskets on the B202 and B204 engines....If you flush real well and replace thermostat, phosphate and silicate free Dexcool orange coolant is fine for the elring head gasket...
