I actually have the entire front interior out for some rust repair. The car is an '89 SPG and the foam pad underneath the carpet is the grey rubber. It was completely disintegrated. I looked at dozens of cars at the junkyard, '92> and all foam pads were toasted. I was lucky enough to find an '86 with perfect foam, but the style is different. It's black rubber over a foam pad, but it should work because the floor pan is the same. The other alternative is to fabricate something which I was trying to avoid. The fiberglass pad in the plastic bag over the center tunnel was toast. Full of water and disintegrated. I got some heat shielding material from summit racing. I'll post pic when I am done. I ground out all the rust down to the metal, sealed with eastwood rust encapsulator, fiberglass, prime, paint, and clear coat.
