C900 Turbo with Automatic... MPG numbers? Posted by DietrichOS [Email] (#430) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DietrichOS) on Thu, 25 Mar 2010 23:01:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I recently have done some stuff to my 1990 Turbo convertible automatic, new mass airflow sensor, new plugs, oil change with synthetic blend, cap and rotor and wires are about six months old, etc.
I put some miles on it today and calculated my fuel ecnomy because it seems to be better lately. Through about 105 miles of driving, I averaged 23.1 on Chevron Supreme.
This was not an economy run. For the first 30 miles I had the AC on and it was a fair bit of stop and go traffic and really slow going. For the rest of it I was probably averaging 75 MPH, albeit without the AC because night had fallen.
My previous best calculated average in this car was about 22 MPG pure highway averaging like 64 MPH, although I never have paid a huge amount of attention to it.
What is everyone else getting in these things? I always figured high teens was the average considering a mix of driving, and very low twenties would be all it would do on the highway.
I guess its kinda dumb to be proud that I got 23 MPG on the highway, if it were a stick I would have been darn near 30. I'm just proud of my little car, I didn't know she had that in her. Kind of makes want to do a highway economy run just to see what it would really do if I tried.
