My son bought a 1989 900T vert. The wiring has been totally screwed up by the PO when he installed a 1200 watt aftermarket stereo. Lots of melting and splicing workarounds. I'm planning to fix it all and wire car and the stereo properly.
Fuse #23 (dash lights and cig lighter) melted a crater in the fuse box. Underneath I can see that the red power wire from the ignition and the green feed wire to the dash rheostat and cig lighter have fused and been cut off. I know from looking at the wiring diagrams that the green wire connects to pin 3 on the bulkhead connector. I'm trying to figure out where the red wire from the ignition switch (X spot on the switch) comes through that connector so I can be sure to connect the proper wires.
I haven't pulled the bolster yet to have a look. It may be as simple as that. But before I dove in, I was looking at all the wiring diagrams so I had some knowledge of what I was looking at. I didn't want to McGruber something and cut the wrong wire. I just couldn't find where the red wire pinned into the bulkhead connector (152A IIRC) on it's way into the fuse box on any diagrams.
