+30, +X, +15, +54 and +S are all power busses in the car. A wire that just goes off to +Something connects to that bus someplace. It is simply a shorthand so they don't have to duplicate everything. There is a diagram for the +X bus (and the rest...) in the Bentley or Shop manuals.
+30 is the battery power. Only disconnecting the battery shuts it off.
+X is for your accessories: radio, etc. This bus is powered with the ignition switch in all positions except off.
+15 is the switched, car on, car running bus. This powers the fuel & ignition systems, and any other devices that should only be on when the car is running. It is only powered when the ignition switch is in the start and run positions.
+54 is switched power that is only powered when the ignition switch is in the RUN position
+50 is the start bus, and is only powered when the ignition switch is in the START position
+S is the key in ignition warning circuit, and is always powered.
If you are seeing "+X" on the supply (top) side of the fuse diagram, that is already inside the fuse box, and probably is going to one of the large relays. Inside the fuse box, many fuses are supplied by one relay for the +X bus. On the load side of the fuse (bottom), follow the wire to the 152X/H29-2 (29 pin connectors through 1990) or the H33 (33 pin connectors 1991-).
The +X, as I recall, is supplied by one of the relays in the fuse box. The ignition switch only provides energizing power to that relay. The relay connects the battery to the fuses supplied by the +X power.
