turbo warm idle goes from 900-800

Hi folks. Trying to sort out a variable idle issue. Car: 88 spg. I've looked at other posts...
Cold start is a challenge -- it likes to almost stall out and then fluctuates between 1000 and 500 rpms. Have to use the gas pedal to help it along.
Once warm it idles between 900 and 800 rpms. The AIC looks brand new but I cleaned it out with throttle cleaner. Recently I messed with setting base idle. When I grounded the test plug on the passenger fender it stalled out (Does this mean the AIC is okay?). Then I jumped pins #1 and #2 on the throttle position switch (TPS). This allowed the idle to sit at a steady 750 rpms (but I couldn't set it any lower). So my car is capable of a steady idle. But does this point to something? Like is the jumpered TPS simulating idle conditions and perhaps when hooked up it is not working correctly (It clicks shut). Or, does this jumpered TPS and the steady idle point to a faulty AIC valve.
Just wondering if I'm on the right track. Thanks for your input!
