Jag,
When you say that it runs for a second or two, will it do that repeatedly, like five times in a row, or just once and then it won't run at all (for a long time, despite cranking)? You may be describing a car that is flooding and I'd suggest that the diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator is torn and fuel is being drawn through the vacuum hose (that's attached to the FPR) and into the intake manifold causing flooding. Make it run until it dies then crank it a bit and then, fast like a bunny, whip out a spark plug or two and see if they are soaked with fuel. Also you can pull off the FPR vacuum hose and see if there is evidence of raw gasoline inside of it, there never should be. Otherwise something is causing the injectors to stay open too long (cycling badly) and injecting too much fuel but that's something we'll deal with if the FPR checks out OK. I don't get the impression that you have an ignition problem or I'd begin by suggesting that you make that determination. First let's see if it's flooding.
