Need some guidance.
I have been preparing to restore my 1990 SPG. Has some rust where the rubber flaps held on the spg kit in each of the wheel wells. Otherwise, the car is in great shape. The interior is excellent and the switchgear is all in good order. I replaced the dash with a second hand unit about 5 years ago, but it has a couple small cracks. I live in Northern Virginia
Have acquired many new parts including:
1) Rebuit tranny
2) Fresh 2L with only 89k, mine has 180K
3) New seals, winshield, doors, door bottoms etc.
4) EGR delete kit
5) New factory dash
6) perfect 16' aero wheels
7) Factory sport exhaust
8) too many other new parts to mention
My goal would be to do a full glass out re-spray. For some reason, I am really struggling with who to do the bodywork and paint. And finally, am I just wasting time and money?
Also, I am struggling with the question of single stage versus 2-pack paint. I want that rich factory shine that can only come from single stage paints, but I would really like to not have to keep the oxidation off every year. Aughhhhhhh.
Please advise.
