Thank you all for the detailed tips and information. The tranny fluids are all up to spec and recently changed since I had the engine and tranny pulled to fix various oil leaks from the bottom seal, headgasket and so on. I will look into the shifter adjustment and see if it helps. The differential side bearings still looked pretty good to me, so it could be just the shifter adjustment. BTW, I changed the tranny fluid every time I do an engine oil change and always used type F. After moving from the US to Germany the beginning of this year (with my C900 Convertibel) I had to look into getting the right type of oil here. After some research I found a dedicated oil made to the exact Ford ESW-M2C 33F & Ford ESW-M2C 33G specs. My old tranny has NEVER worked/shifted better compared to any type F oil I used in the US. Maybe it is for sale in the US, look for : Liqui Moly Top Tec ATF 1300, it's Made in Germany and comes without red dye, it's just clear.
