Moving vac lines from one port on the manifold to another on the manifold should not have any adverse effect. They all produce the same vac/boost output.
The convertible has it's vacuum canister in the rear trunk, the coupe has it in the right fender. The check valve at the firewall connects to the vac line to the vac canister. I'm not sure if both the coupe and vert get a check valve there, but all my verts have them. Earlier verts had the vac canister in the right fender as well.
I'm not sure, but I think that any working vacuum line check valve should work. I've had all kinds in my cars over the years and never noticed a difference. As long as it prevents boost from over-pressurizing the valve cover and crank case it works.
