Thanks Justin. I didn't see it on the egauge website so I went to Hust Bros. in Marysville. (They have half a dozen warehouses and supply much of No. Calif). They are a VDO dealer and looked it up in a hard copy catalog. The socket is a 600 808 for a type D peanut bulb. The type D bulb is the same as the heater control lights and the headlight switch. It turns out the socket is the same one that is used in the Saab labeled VDO gauges and will fit the VW VDO gauges. The socket is NLA but Hust had 3 dusty ones left that I snapped up.
