Ah, C900 memories.
Like the time the 92 C900 didn't see many miles as I had two newer SAABs. The Viggen was garaged, and the 97 9000 was the daily driver. C900 stayed just outside the garage in my driveway.
So the condo board decides to replace all of the gutters and downspouts on out townhomes. I'm not paying attention. But due to some dispute with the contractor, he walked off before reinstalling my downspout from the roofline two stories above. The hole in the gutter was EXACTLY over the air intake slots on the C900's hood, and during a heavy rain a column of water apparantly overwhelmed the intake and heater/ac box, filling the car via the lower heater vents with water to the sills. Didn't notice it for a few days until the sun caused condensation on the inside windows. Any other car with a different intake arrangement would not have had a problem. Fortunately there were no electrical issues, just wet carpets.
Tore out the carpets and replaced the horsehair underpads with foam carpet padding from The Home Despot. Rugs dried in the sun (after a good shampoo), but I went to the tool rental place and rented a floor fan used to dry out houses and set it up inside the car, moving it around every few hours for a coouple of days. The guy said its not the time you allow it to dry out, but the amount of air you move through the affected areas that dries it out.
The fans are like plastic barrels with a large slot on the bottom that moves air along a floor at a high velocity and are maybe $15 a day to rent.
Long term, no issues, but it could have been worse.
