Anyone have luck "rebuilding" the motors. I have some that stop working from time to time. Hitting them with a hammer usually solves the problem for a couple of months. I've tried cleaning the commutator and cleaning up the brushes but it doesn't make much difference.
All that being said, one of the "best" things I've even done was getting a rebuilt unit from Autozone - I've never had a problem with that motor since. That was for the wife's car and for obvious reasons I can screw around with her car. But I am too cheap to buy a rebuilt motor for my DD so I'd like to do a quick rebuild. Any suggestions?
