Engine stalls when hot outside..

I have a 88 Turbo that stalls out when hot outside after running for a while. In the evenings, the engine runs fine, no stalling at all. When it does this, I turn it off for a few minutes, and then it runs fine for about 5 to 15 miles. What could this be? O2 sensor and catalytic converter needs to be replaced?
