as to your duh, I guess I missed something?
There are about three different "Aero" rims, but they all came on the 9000s. The original ones on the 9000 1991/1992 and were a gray/brown center with silver polished rims (and I think these were the only ones with that configuration) and were 16". Then in 1993- and maybe through 1997 there are the Super Aeros that came on the 9000 Aero, and then at the end 1998? There are the anniversary wheels that were just like the Super Aeros, except the lugs were exposed and not hub cap. The "Aeros" had spokes more similar to the c900 SPG wheels, the last two had spokes that curved into the wheel. There are also Cheese Cutters and some CSE that were also three spoke wheels with very different spokes than the Super Aeros.
The main issue that most run into with the Aero/Super Aeros on a c900 are that the offset of the wheel puts the tire out further and into the inner fender roll and can cause cutting of the tire. c900s are notorious for sitting rear low. An additional issue is that the wheel is not centered front to back in the wheel arch, adds to the clearance issue AND some don't like the look as it is not centered. Damien Shulock made a kit to relocate the rear mounts to move the axle back to minimize both of those issues.
The wheels do look very nice.
