Seems like we are on the same wavelength here Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Tue, 14 Jun 2011 12:56:29 In Reply to: Re: Just finished replacing my cable - a few thoughts, Eiron, Tue, 14 Jun 2011 12:24:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My principal point was to use a cable locking nut at the throttle body like the one pictured in the link. I am guessing you have the dashboard, or knee bolster off. I've got a 1990 vert, and I am pretty sure the set-up is the same. I went through the speaker housing so that I didn't have to pull the bolster, or pull out the driver's seat to do the job on my back. Kinda tedious groping around for a half hour, but very do-able.
It was reeeeaaallly irritating to have to do this repair today (cable got stuck at full throttle on the way to work). I'd already planned on doing the replacement on Sunday (Father's Day) while installing a new (crack-free) dashboard and everything would be out in the open. Arrrgh!
