First , allow me to say thank you. As usual, the continuum has responded with a variety of useful and intelligent approaches.
This is really about a bit a laziness on my part. Having owned a series of 900's since the mid eighties, this is not the first time I've done this. I have used all the suggested methods, as well as owning the appropriate tool, both Saab and homemade. But it has probably been 15 years or more since the last time. And the tool, as small things are wont to do, has disappeared.
Were this a driveway project I wouldn't mind, but I'm going junkyard diving for parts for a project. I was hoping to find the tool easily, just to make it easier, as I'll be doing this more than once. Guess it time to get the hacksaw out again.
I'll call AST on Monday and see if they have it.
Once again, thank you for your help.
