I stripped and repaired a ram some seven years ago - the problem was a cheap O-ring against the cost of an expensive ram. My piston was not seized though.
Using the correct oil is important. Some use ATF but it can stain if it leaks again. You appear to have a choice - the SAAB OEM Oil or a straight SAE 10W non-detergent mineral Motor Oil. Please note all 'engine' oils have detergents. I spoke to the Castrol Help desk here in Australia. They stated there is an oil commonly used in hydraulic applications that meets the spec written above - Hyspin AWH 32. This oil is also marketed/called motorcycle 10W (mineral) Fork Oil which is obtainable in smaller quantities. (The ISO 32 viscosity is the same as SAE 10W viscosity).
I used this (motorcycle fork) oil and bled the system in car - and no problems since.
