I don't recall your whole story here but reverse bleeding always works if all the components are in good shape. There is no need to have anyone in the car or to touch the clutch pedal at any time during the process. You may have to move a surprising amount of fluid through the circuit (slave to reservoir) before the pedal firms up. If you aren't raising the level of fluid in the reservoir then you're not moving enough fluid. I sometimes have to extract more than a cup of fluid from the res. during the process (to prevent overflowing) before all the air is bled out. What is the state of your master cylinder? No amount of any kind of bleeding will get the system to work if the seals in the MC are shot and seeing the fluid rise and fall with pedal action and a tube attached to a loosened bleeder screw does not mean that the MC is OK (because there's no real resistance).
