Hope that you've figured it out by now but just in case not (and for archival purposes) I recently suffered the same symptoms: creak/squeak, hard to localize. Most evident at low speeds and on uneven terrain. You didn't mention this but I'll bet it was/is the case: noise goes away at higher speeds (>30 mph) and there are no handling problems. In my case ('93 900S) it turned out to be the upper ball joint on drivers side. Replaced with Moog and I cannot describe to you how happy I am NOT to hear that creak any more. The key to diagnosis, as suggested elsewhere in this thread, was to grip each possible culprit (tie rod, BJ, shock, etc) while an assistant did whatever was necessary to provoke the noise. The vibration can transmit from source to other parts in the suspension, so don't overlook any less obvious sources and feel for the one part that rattles in the palm of your hand. GL... Scott
