If you bench bleed the M/C you "can" get away without bleeding the whole system so why try to change the booster without disconnection the lines? I would be afraid of bending or breaking a line especially on a relatively old car.
For a replacement I would talk to an indy or a wrecker (like Goldwing or Sports Car Service). Shipping is probably a pain so someone local might be best.
