one in yesterday . Unfortunately that was my third booster failure in about 3 years . All in my only c900 which is an 88 spg . I've suspected the master cylinder of causing these frequent failures since it appears this many is way out of the norm , but now I think maybe its just been a string of bad luck with used boosters I'm getting that are near failure when I put them in . All boosters are so old now . Also the MC was put in new 5 years ago and shows no sign of having anything wrong with it . My mechanic who's worked on saabs only for ~30 years says the master seems fine . Anyways the one I just put in was one which I did not want to , because it had water in it when I found it , but got tired of checking every junk yard and finding nothing or a crapped out looking booster with water in it . What I've learned (some confirmed by others here , some not) : I've bent the brake lines 3 times now to move the master and they have not cracked . I don't think its possible to move the master out of the way enough without disconnecting the fluid line to the clutch master . Move the coolant reservoir and remove the alternator adjustment bracket bolt in order to get the booster out . Remove the driver's seat or else come prepared with a very limber upper body . If installing used , hook it up to your car's booster vacuum line to test for leaks before installing and check your engine vacuum reading with it hooked up (I think ~19 Hg is a good reading . Sorry for the long post , but I've struggled with this so much recently that I wanted to make the info useful to others .
