My 88 SPG shredded its hall sensor. I found a distributor from a donor car, an 88 turbo, but it has a different connection did mine had. My SPG has an 07 distributor and the donor car has an 08. I need to spice the cable connector from the donor car to my cable. When I cut the insulation of the cable, there are 3 wires (red, green and brown) wrapped in cloth and copper wiring. What is the function of the copper wiring? Do I need to be concered about it during the splice, like making sure that the copper wrapping is touching on both ends of the splice? Thanks in advance.
