Haven't been on the site for a bit cause I've been tweaking the old girl with needed repairs.
Here's the scoop:
1. There's a rusted spot near the control arm on passengers side and the aluminum pieces the arms are connected too (both sides) are rotting as well. Yea I know, should've looked those over but after doing a lot of other things to her it slipped my mind till I took her in for an alignment. No thread on tie rods and freakin major rust in this area. Otherwise of course, a tip top car. The mechanic broke my heart. Replaced inner rods, now straight and true. Major welding work to be done. Researching quotes at the moment.
Really upset with previous indy who should have informed me when the other suspension work was being done but oh well.
2. Won't pass NY state inspection if I don't get it repaired. Whats the ball park cost of this procedure and is it worth it? Cars upper limit is about 2500 to 3000 if I'm fortunate. But would go for much less if sold as is.
1990 900S. 153,487 miles. BLK/TAN Some minor rust on passenger wheel well. Apparently major issues with suspension rust. New ball joints, shocks, rear springs, flushed gearbox and radiator, new hoses, tune up (full), new headliner, dash cover, repaired drivers seat stitching and sooo much more. and waiting to receive one of those faux wood kits for the interior.
Just venting. Some of you guys have been here before so thanks for listening. I've owned several Saabs and am so disappointed cause this one is THE one. Wanted to ride off into the sunset with her.
I need my blankey...
Happy Saabing!
