First, nice pic Jon!
SSFM, has the car been modified? If so, then someone could have tinkered with the pots on the APC to increase max boost and duration, or put a smaller air restrictor in the center barb on the APC solenoid. Generally, if you do either, you also have to increase fuel pressure and modify the capsule on the distributor (or find an 010 distributor). If either modification is skipped, chances are you will experience just what you are experiencing. I run red boxes with 2.8 bar FPRs and 010 distributors on my cars. I have tried running a standard unmodified turbo distributor and always hit fuel cut when I mash it.
You could also have a loose or cracked rubber fitting between the turbo compressor outlet and intake that only acts up when pressures get to the levels that it leaks. Also check the top of the pipe coming from the turbo to the intercooler. If its too close to the clamp on the radiator hose above it, it can get a hole rubbed in it--pinhole leak.
You can disconnect the pipe from the turbo compressor and install a PVC fitting with a pneumatic fitting on the end and pump about 20psi of pressure through the intake plumbing and intercooler with the throttle plate open. If you have a leak, you'll be able to hear it. If you can't pinpoint it, spray a little soapy water in the general area and it will bubble up.
