squealing mixed in . The squealing aspect is very faint though and not at all like a typical loud belt squeal . The overall noise is not loud , but it stands out as the predominant engine bay noise and the belts were much quieter before . All the belts are in good shape . I tried putting load on each belt driven accessory to determine which belt is making the noise through noise variation under load . Turning on the a/c , turning most of the electronics on , and turning the steering back and forth all done as separate tests made no change to the noise . This leaves the water pump as the only accessory I could not increase the load on , but if the noise was from those belts it should have changed with the alternator loaded up . All the belt driven accessories , the harmonic balancer and the a/c tensioner pulley all seem to be in good shape . I would like to try to isolate the noise by spraying each belt , one at a time until the noise goes away , but I don't want to harm any of the belts' durability/longevity with some kind of spray . I would like opinions on this situation and if there is any kind of spray that won't effect the belts in the long term . By the way , I have already increased and decreased each belt's tension separately and noticed no change in the noise .
