one word... dash-pot
its super cold outside and when the car is sitting after a nice night the rubber in the dash pot is next to frozen leaving the throttle fully closed and the throttle lever at the idling screw. after you start the car the throttle is released and there is nothing to grab the throttle lever to bring it down to a nice idle until the rubber warms up allowing the dashpot to do its job. setting the idle screw any higher at cold idle will only give you a super high idle when warm.
next on my tons of fun would be to clean off the oxy end and spry the amm with electric cleaner.
