The Triumph-derived Saab engine is remarkably long-lived. I know that it must be possible to wear these motors out, but you really have to work at it. Other parts of the car don't necessarily share this level of durability, of course, especially the transmission in the C900.
Both my C900 and my 9000 have just shy of 300,000 miles each, and both run great, not anywhere near their last legs at this mileage. Neither engine has needed any internal repairs. The C900 did have its 5-speed transmission rebuilt about 10 years and 140,000 miles ago and it's still going strong.
These cars are getting to the age where the worst problem, at least in wet and/or snowy climates, is rust. The tinworm never sleeps. If you can find a nice rust-free example that is worth some $$$ even if it needs mechanical work.
