typical signs of a failing clutch master.
I think most of us have been thru this one a lot!
Very easy to replace!....can be changed and bled in like 30 min.
If it was me, i would get a rebuild kit for 10 bucks and take it apart.
Better yet, if you have one off the car, rebuild that one and swap em out.
I always keep a spare rebuilt unit in my trunk in my SAAB survival kit.
It could easily be changed on the side of the road w/ NO special bleeding tools...seriously! In a pinch, you can flick the supply line from the brake reservoir to make the air leave the clutch master w/ the help of some gentile pumping of the pedal. Try it once!
A new one my be worth the price if you don't wanna deal with it, but I personally have done more than 5 of these as rebuilds and have never had one not work out...even w/ some pitting in the bore of the cylinder.
If you rebuild, make sure you use non petroleum, silicone based brake assembly grease to lube the new seals during assembly.
good luck!
