If you're looking for as close to "showroom new" as you can get - cars like Jon Williams turns out - I don't think $20k for a "turnkey" job is even in the ballpark. I'd be very surprised if Jon's spend on any one car was much under $20k (if it's under that at all...), and that's with him doing pretty much everything. Really good paint alone (not counting prep!) can set you back $5,000, and if you want them to prep the car, too, even more.
At the end of the day, there are far too few of us out there who would pay $35k or more for essentially a 20-year old car to sustain a business.
