loosing clutch pressure...master cylinder failing?

If I have not depressed the clutch pedal for some time, I have plenty of pressure, but if I push the clutch in and hold it for a long time, the release point gets further and further in, and the pedal gets loose. If I release the clutch and attempt to press it back in after this, I barely get any purchase on the clutch, and the pedal is really loose. After sitting for a little while (about 10 seconds or so) it acts normal again.
Based on reading previous posts of other peoples experience, It feels like a gasket or seal may be leaking in the master cylinder and letting the pressure bleed off of it when I hold the clutch in. I can do quick presses of the clutch for shifting, but end up having to put trans in neutral when stopped or clutch will eventually bleed off and re-engage despite having the pedal to the floor.
What is the opinion of you all here?
