I give up...how to get the new a-arm bushing in bracket Posted by Robster501 [Email] (#417) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Robster501) on Tue, 24 Jul 2012 15:29:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I read somewhere to freeze the bushing, use soap and water, then use a huge hammer to get the bushing into the bracket. This did not work for me. bent the inner metal sleeve on one of the replacement bushings, and the other one the rubber is starting to deform. I don't want to have to buy more bushings. Any other ways of doing this?
"You can make a DIY press contraption with a long bolt, washer and socket on one end, and a 1-1/8" socket as a spacer on the other to pull the bushing in without a press. Lubricate generously with silicone spray, or use soapy water."
This was in a previous post but im having trouble visualizing it. thanks-rob
