Jon is using a big vise as a press in that photo, not a long bolt and washers. Not everyone has a vise that big.

The idea of a bolt is that it would be long enough to run through whatever tube or socket you are using as a pressing tool, through the bushing, through the a-arm, and with enough thread sticking out to place a larger socket spacer so bushing can come thru enough to be even in middle of things, maybe a hardened washer, then a nut.

The bolt would need long enough threaded length to pull bushing all the way in, or else you'd need to stop when you ran out of thread and add more spacing to things to pull it all the way.

If you go with a bolt, oil its threads before starting so it will turn easier.
