I put my computer to sleep when I'm not using it, and I unplug the line from modem to computer.

Recently when I wake it up, it often has these two messages on the screen:

"The operation timed out when attempting to contact googleads.g.doubleclick.net"

and, in a box that pops up after I cancel the above:

"The operation timed out when attempting to contact google.com"

So, Google has something set inside my computer asking it to call Google up and report on me.

I accept no cookies, except when necessary as on some sites, and my preferences options shows no cookies set.

I read on google's main site that information they may collect includes, when you visit a Google site, "sending cookies or anonymous identifiers to your device," and that they also use these "when you interact with services we offer to our partners, such as advertising services or Google features."

Well, I rarely visit Google or any of its sites.

My question is, I guess, does the SaabSite use Google's ad services in some way that they're now letting Google onto my computer and having it tell Google what I'm interested in?

I can't find any way to contact Google to ask them what's up.
