Its just trying to look for updates Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Fri, 31 Aug 2012 14:48:03 In Reply to: My computer is a snitch., RayF, Fri, 31 Aug 2012 12:43:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Google set the default on their web browser to check daily for new updates. When you start digging into the auto update features on your programs you`ll find they all do it. Windows auto updates weekly I do believe, personally I shut them all off and set to only check when I manually do it. A friend of mine was using g-mail for his primary e-mail provider and he had the setting to auto update (default setting). So everything's good right?.. wrong g-mail sent out an update for its services and it was a bad patch it made all g-mail clients unable to view pic.s sent by others, of course my friend had me on speed dial thinking he was hit by a virus and wanted me to rush over to fix it. But in the end it was unfix-able until g-mail released the fix patch, if his p.c. would have never auto updated it would have ben just fine.
Much like my gaming p.c. at home if it auto updates at Microsoft it will download and install a sound driver that conflicts with my system knocking out the sound. Which could be mistaken for a virus very easy. Google chrome will pump your p.c. full of garbage just shut off the auto updates and you'll be fine.
